▶ Your Answer :
People have their own preferences between printed materials
and the internet to use when doing a research. Some people may think using
printed materials have more benefits. However, in my opinion, using the
internet is more efficient way to do a research.
To begin with, there're a myriad of sources of information
on the internet. Personal blogs, encyclopedias and sites of journals are
typical examples. While books are written in author's favor so that we should
follow his or her flow of contents, we can efficiently search specific
materials which we want to know easily on the internet. In addition, through
studying with a couple of resources, one can reach a deeper understanding. For
instance, I was confused of a concept in biology, so I read the Wikipedia and
an article which was well explained by an individual. I could also find the
problem sets pertinent to the concept and I could check my understanding via
solving them.
On top of that, almost all printed materials such as books
and articles are already on the internet. These days, it’s capable for us to
buy pdf versions of books or borrow e-books at the internet libraries. Also,
the journals like Science and Nature provides the readers with pdf version of
thesis. If it had not been for the development of internet, we should borrow a
bunch of books and subscribe to the journals to refer to do a research, which
is burdensome and time-consuming. Doing a research takes much of the researcher’s
energies, so saving time and power by using internet would be valuable.
To sum up, it's possible to access to a lot of information
when using internet and it's more convenient than using written materials. In
this regard, it's plausible to say that using the internet is a better way to
do a research. |
