In the reading passage, there is ample support for the author's claim that there are some plausible solutions to solve the problems which are related to a plummeting of many frog species population. However, the professor in the lecture gives several reasons as a rebuttal to the author's point.
First, the professor contends that it is very difficult for people to breed them in captivity since they would probably eat each other from time to time if they were in the same cage. Also, these problems results in diverse of diseases and complicated structure of their habitat. This casts doubt on the reading passage's claim that breeding them in captivity is really fits well for this type of initiative. Furthermore, frogs do not require a huge amount of food since they are small.
Next, the professor insists that eliminating non-native predators would make frogs getting into worse situation. Killing the amount of invasive species could be one of the measures for frogs but it could also harmful to the frogs. Some people have tried to kill the frog's predators in New Zealand, but 90% of frogs died as well. Thus, it is detrimental to both of them. This counters the reading passage's assertion that removing invasive species is also an available solution.
Finally, the professor argues that frogs can alter their vocalization if the environment around them were to noisy. What I learned is that they could increase their peach pitch when needed to mating. As a result(=Therefore,Consequently), reducing noise pollution from traffic could not affects to the success of frogs breed. This refutes the reading passage's suggestion that decreasing noise problem on the street can be a third solution. This is because vocalization is so important for them to attract mates.
