With out a doubt, field trip plays a
significant role in people’s daily lives in many of the places where they work
or play. There might be some people who believe that classroom learning is more
important than field trips, while others do not think this way. Both sides may
have their own reasons to support their views. If I were asked to choose one, I
would say that it is more important for students to learn through field trips
than classroom. There are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, when students go field
trips, it could help them to improve their academic performance. Field trips
enable students to relax and recharge their batteries. When students are
recharged, they are likely to have more energy to put into working and beging
active. For example, my youngest brother did poorly in elementary school. He
got distracted easily, procrastinated and acted on impulse. He felt bored
because of his exhausting daily routine. However he has changed little by little
after his school went field trips every month. He went to the amusement park,
museum and enjoyed playing with his classmates. Naturally, he realized that
this break time could help him to focus his schoolwork better, and he started
to maintain a good behavior by raising his grades in school. Without field
trips, he would have fallen behind.
On top of that, field trips can contribute
on an increase in people’s overall happiness. It can gives them a chance to
experience something different from what they would do in their daily routine.
A new experience tends to prevent them from feeling bored in life. For example,
when my sister was in high school, she often felt depressed thinking her life
became an exhausting routine. To survive in a competitive world, she spent most
of her time studying and working every day, hoping that she could outdo others.
Fortunately, she was able to deal with such pressure and stress by going new places
with her peers. In fact, this new experience at outside could not obtain from
classroom. If she had not experienced field trips, she would not have been able
to let off some steam.
All things considered, I strongly believe that
the advantages of field trips far outweigh those of classroom learing for the
reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, the importance of field trips cannot
be overestimated in the pursuit of the happiness in life.
