It is debatable whether dancing plays an important role in a culture. This is an intriguing question because opinions concerning this can be different relying on individual perspectives. However, In my opinion, I agree with the statement for the following subsequent two reasons.
To begin with, dancing can function as binding the world into one unity. Body language can be used in anywhere in the world, even though people do not know about the culture of the region. The dance, the representative nonverbal communication method, can express a wide range of human's emotions effectively. In these perspectives, the K-POP is getting popular these days, it hugely affects the world's culture, not just the simple body language. For example, I was in a K-POP dance club at my university. Last year, I tripped to Germany, and when I was walking down the street, I heard at a plaza that the song 'DNA' from BTS, the most influential K-POP star. Then, I played dancing with other people, and I became a friend with them. From this experience, I realized that dancing can combine the world's people into one entity.
On top of that, dancing can be used as an indication of a specific culture. For thousands of years, the dance has been an essential part of the ritual and tradition. Indian tributes have confirmed the bondage and western people have celebrated themselves at an anniversary by dancing. Therefore, we can understand the cultural diversity by learning about these different dancing cultures. For instance, last semester, I visited China for a field trip. the purpose of the trip was to know about the difference between Korea's culture and China's one. In the course of the trip, I had a chance to watch the performance of 'mask dancing'. I found that the way of dancing was more elaborate but slower than Korea's dancing, so I learned from it that I would be able to discern the culture of a country by dancing.
In a nutshell, dancing can combine the world into one unity. Moreover, dancing can represent a specific culture's characteristic. In this regard, I strongly believe that dancing has a significant role in a culture. |
