▶ Your Answer :There has been a heated controversy regarding the issue of whether young adults’ independence from their parents should be respected, or not. While a certain population of people holds the view that young adults are early to live without parents’ assistance, others are of stance that when became adult, it is necessary to be independent from parents’ help. Even though both positions have a unique set of merits and demerits, the latter seems to be based on sound logic. In this essay, two rationales will be presented to support the argument. First of all, beginner who are figuring out to adapt society learn in person how to live. With parent’s help continuing, their opportunity to experience reality are getting lost only to be likely to become antisocial person. My experience can clearly attest to this. Until my age became 25 years old, I used to ask for parents’ help to deal with something hard to figure out. One day, my parents decided to cut off the assistance for me. Although I though it is okay, it is difficult for me to get used to the reality. For example, I used to be lonely in a group of workplace because i did not know how to get along with others. Also, the fact that I have been supported by parents till 25 years makes me childish image, which resulted that I did not often go outside and naturally complain about the social structure. For these reason, it is important for young adults to be independent from parents as soon as possible. Second, it is first step for them to improve their potential. If parents interfere with young adults’ dreams, they tend to give up their own goal because parents had already experienced the things they had suffered in the same ages as their child. In addition, most parents have a respective prejudice based on real society. Their experience is too strong to accept their sons and daughters’ dream. The fact that parents wants their child to live a stable life, in fact, prevent their potential to exert in the society. If young adults live with parents, it is easy for them to give up their goal if they follow parents’ wish. Based on what has been presented, we can conclude that they can get the opportunity to reach their goal without parents’ prejudice. In a nutshell, young adults’ choice independent from parents should be respected. It is not only due to the adaptation to society, but also due to the potential young adults have. I adamantly believe that these two aforementioned reasons are enough to support my argument. |
