▶ Your Answer : There might be some people who believe that the news media is reliable because it uses a source of unbiased information. Likewisely, I personally agree with the above idea for two subsequent reasons. Firstly, most people use the news to get information. Secondly, the reporter's names are represented apparently.
To begin with, if the news broadcasts the biased information widely, people would accuse the behavior. Although the news media often provided biased information in the past, it is difficult to do so nowadays because of the development of the internet. I will bring up my personal story as an example. Two years ago, the news media had ever broadcasted biased knowledge about sensitive issue. Modern people realized the information was biased through the internet, so many people caused tumult about this behavior. As a result, the news media ended up making an apology for their behavior. This example shows that many people consider the news media as a reliable source.
On top of that, unlike internet, the news always has reporter's names below the contents, so it is not easy for reporters to give biased information. There is a recent survey done by Korea University's professor Kim. The survey's object was to reveal the influence of anonymity. Respondents were divided into two groups when they wrote information about social problems. One group consisted of representing their names on their information and the other group did not involve their names on them. The result was interesting. The latter included more biased information. This is due to the fact that they feel like people would not know whoever write the contents. This clearly shows that the news is less likely to involve biased information.
In conclusion, the news media is not only the source that most people use, but also gives the reporter's name definitely. In this regard, it is reliable that the news media afford a source of unbiased information.
