▶ Your Answer :
It is debatable
to judge someone by external appearances. Some people suggest that external appearance
is one of self-management. However, I do not agree with judging a person
through his external appearances for two reasons below.
First, appearance
is hard to change. People think about plastic surgery but a few cases cannot be
affordable to medical and science region. There is an example. Someone’s
parents do not have tall height. According to this reason, their child is also
hard to have tall height without special surgery or medicine. To be specific, many
parts of appearance are decided when our mother pregnant. Of course, appearance
can be changed many conditions from environment. However, key to our identity
is hard to change such as face and height. They can change through a huge
amount of money with surgery. But there exists risk also. For example, I have
problem that is a large size of black spot on my back. My parents think that is
my identity when I was missing or confused with other similar people. However, in
hospital, my spot cannot be removable. If I really want, they can do surgery but
it takes 3 years of time and needs a lot of money. So, I and my parents cancel
the plan
Second, if we
judge a person by his appearance, we lost many things of him. Furthermore, we
have narrow sight to judge someone’s ability. Some people who have strange
appearance have another surprisingly developed ability such as Stephan Hawking
who is theoretical physicist and discovers very famous theory of the big bang. He
is patient of Lou Gehrig disease. Because of that disease, his appearance is
really awkward but his work is considered great work in astronomy. Likewise, we
focused someone's appearances, we cannot see his real ability not only Stephan
Hawking but also all people.
To sum up,
appearance cannot be determined someone’s ability. In some part, I also agree
that external appearance is one of self-management. But in case of heredity or disease,
that is not self-management. Therefore, we have many systems to judge someone’s
ability and characteristics correctly. |
