▶ Your Answer :
There has been an argument regarding the issue of whether sports and
social activities should receive same financial support with classes and
libraries or not. Some people maintain that they need to increase their mental
and physical health to study well. From my perspective, however, universities
and colleges are place to study. Therefore, I think classes and libraries
should receive more financial support. In this essay, I will present two
reasons to support my idea.
To begin with, university is the place where students and faculties
study. Generally speaking, a lot of students go to university for studying
their major more deeply. Take for instance, I'm major in mechanical
engineering, and it needs to a lot of machines and computers and so on. And
they are very expensive and indispensable to our part. Also, for using them, we
need a lot of electric power and it also money. So, in universities, there are
so many things to need more support to their study. If they have money to use
in sports and social activities, they should use them for studying because
universities are the place to study. In this respect, at universities and
colleges, classes and libraries should receive more financial support.
Moreover, university is not the only site to do sports and social
activities. By and large, students can do exercise and social activities
outside campus. For example, at city halls in Korea, they have some plans to
improve public's health like yoga, tennis, and softball. City halls provide the
plans very low price because they use public’s taxes. Also, there are a lot of
society clubs for worker. If really want to do sports and social activities,
they can join that clubs like soccer, baseball and photo clubs. Hence,
universities and colleges don't need to invest equal financial support at
sports and social activities because there are already a lot of opportunity
outside to participate.
In conclusion, I strongly argue for my standpoint on account of the two
reasons mentioned above. Once again, although the verdict may still be out, I
personally believe that two of my rationales above are sufficiently convincing
enough to represent the viewpoints of a majority of people who are in favor of
my claim.
