▶ Your Answer :
It is obvious
that nowadays more and more people are moving into big cities. Some people
suggest some disadvantages of living in big cities, especially for children and
old people. However, I think that growing in urban areas is more helpful than
the country for children. Big cities help children learn more, and their
environment is not that harsh to live in.
First,
there are various things for children to experience in big cities. Cultural
institutions like museums, art galleries, music halls, etc. are mainly located
in rural areas, especially the capital of the country. In case of Korea, even
though many countries show similar conditions, many expositions and performances
are only held in Seoul, which is the capital of Korea. Most of the head offices
of companies are in Seoul. Children in big cities easily contact to those
special events and the jobs they are interested in. This kind of experiences is
fairly important for the children’s learning.
In
addition, living in big cities doesn’t make children unhealthy or unhappy. Urban
areas used to be worried about various kinds of pollution. This is not the
case, however, since there are lots of places to rest, cure, and be healthier
also in big cities: parks, playgrounds, small forests, etc. even if they are artificially
made. As interests in healthy and nature grow, there are many attempts to live healthier
even in large cities. To illustrate, while I live in Seoul, I exercise everyday
in the park nearby. This park is always crowded with people exercising and
children on picnic. Obviously there are enough places for children to live with
high qualities.
Conclusively,
children can take advantage of living in big cities a lot. It is often
criticized that too many institutions are concentrated in urban areas. This
clearly shows that staying in those cities will give more chances to people.
Moreover, such institutions include healthy environments, which decline the
possibility of negative effects of big cities. Thus urban areas are advantageous
enough for children. |
