The news media is a reliable source of unbiased information.

Some argue that news media is trustworthy so that we can depend dependent on those materials completely due to their effort to be neutral. However, in my opinion, news we face every day is somewhat biased and unreliable. That is, it is impossible to exclude journalists’ stance out of their report and many media are bake on* backed by the major companies, which will interfere their free will to report neutrally. *be back on~ : ~이 배후에 있다
The first and foremost reason why news media is untrustworthy is that it is impossible for correspondents to be completely neutral on the subject they are dealing with. There always exists somewhat distorted projection of creator’s view in the material even though they try their best not to. To elaborate, the overall tones, choice of words, and even allocation of the article in the newspaper whether it is on the first page or last page are is the result of their political stance on the matter. Therefore, it is overestimated view on media to say they are unbiased and so reliable. 단순히 기자의 개인적 관점이라는 피상적인 표현보다 political opinion, issue position(right or left / conservative or progressive)등의 표현을 활용하면 전달력을 더 높일 수 있으니 참고하세요^^
Another equally important reason is that many of the news media are supported financially by major companies, which make them to concern about their supporter’s ideas when they broadcast. It would be very difficult not to include investor’s idea when their financial status is up to them. Therefore, such media will only release news that does not interrupt interrupts supporter’s business, or to raise their reputation. For example, when Tae-an oil spill took place in Korea in 2009, many of the news media were reluctant to mention Samsung, the company which who triggered the problem, because most of them were financially supported backed by this major conglomerate. Therefore, it is debatable whether news media is neutral.
To wrap up, I believe that it is very controversial to say that news media is reliable source of information, since journalists often project projects their own view in their news and it is hard for news media not to be concerned about their investors, who are mostly major companies trying to manipulate the information. In this regard, I disagree with the statement completely.
