Some argue that older people enjoy life more than younger generations because they are relatively wealthier. Nonetheless, I think that young people live life more enjoyably than their counterpart as they have less limitation in their choice of hobbies and they take less responsibility.
First of all, young people can enjoy various hobbies because they are physically more able than older people. To elaborate, younger generations can actively engage in different hobbies that might require a lot of physical activity. On the other hand, older people, due to their physical inability, have a fewer hobbies to chose from. For example, my family travelled to Hongkong two years ago. Although my grandmother desperately wanted to join us, she could not because she was too old to withstand the long travel. My grandmother had enough money to afford the travel but she missed her chance to enjoy life more due to her old age and health. This incident reflects that older people will have to engage in sedentary hobbies while younger people can freely enjoy life more variably.
Secondly, younger people can live life more enjoyably because many of them have yet to form their own family. Therefore, they tend to take less responsibility in their actions and thus relatively have higher chances of enjoying life more than older people. Since old people have family to take care of, they constantly worry about the consequence of their actions. For example, my dad always wanted to quit working for his company as it was too stressful. However, he could not do so because he has to earn money for the family. If he had not been married, he can quit his job because he has only one mouth to feed. Younger people are free from the responsibility that most old people have.
In conclusion, younger generations have more hobbies to chose from because they are healthier than old people and they are free from the responsibility to take care of their family. Having said all, it is evident that young people can enjoy life more than older generations.
