▶ Your Answer :An intriguing topic of discussion at hand
is whether the best way to learn is through listening to others or reading
books. The answer to this question can vary greatly depending on the individual
perspectives. Thus, the jury may still be out, but as far as I am concerned, I agree
with this statement. In this essay, I will present two reasons supporting my
standpoint as follows.
First, learn from lecture is the most
effective way to gain knowledge. Although someone insist that the way to learn perfectly
is self-learning, it takes too much time to learn and there are so many thing
people have to learn to live nowadays.
According to the report released by konkuk
university education research center, learn from lecture is more effective than
self-learning. People absorbed knowledge 300% faster than self-studying. For
example, when someone have to make reports using word processer at first time. He
may click many kinds of button to learn their function, and he will experience
trying and error. On the other hand if he read manual before try the program. He
can make his reports by just following the manual.
Second, people can gain knowledge easily they
didn’t experienced. To be specific, reading books or lecture is only way to people
learn about history, technology. In case of technology, well-known scientists
spent their whole life time to find unknown knowledge or make their thesis. After
time they have been accumulated step by step until today. Nowadays, we can
learn their knowledge from their books or paper by just read and listening
lecture. For instance, I learned mechanics of materials when I was student. And
I use that knowledge when I am working at the company. Without learn from
lecture or reading books, I couldn’t get that knowledge. if I want to know
about the linear elasticity of material, I have to operate experiment every
time. but I studied from books I can use the laws of elasticity of material
when I need.
In conclusion, I strongly argue for my
standpoint on account of the two reasons mentioned above. Once again, although
the verdict may still be out, I personally believe that two of my rationales
are sufficiently convincing enough to represent the viewpoints of a majority of
people who are in favor of my claim. |
