Some people argue that knowledge from
TV is much large in quantities than from books. However, as far as I am
concerned, I strongly agree with the statement that it has more precious facets
in books than TV. This is because books can inspire people’s dream. Another
reason is that creativity can be produced by reading books. In this essay, I
will briefly present two main reasons to support my idea.
To begin with, books are more
variable methods to motivate people to dream about their future than TV. What I
mean is that there are numerous people not only in the past but also nowadays
who convince that their successful lives were delivered by books which they
read in the past days. To exemplify, Abraham Lincoln, one of the most respected
presidents in United States of America, accomplished his dream, freedom of
slaves. Were it not for a book which he read in his childhood, the freedom of
slaves might have not been possible until now. In addition to this story, Bill
Gates who is the richest person on the world and the most successful CEO of MS
Corporation mentioned that his entire life was enabled thanks to books not
because of TV.
On top of that, it is a well-known
fact that watching TV diminishes children creativities. To be more specific, it
is a book that can make students imagine. For instance, when I was an
elementary student, reading the ‘Harry Porter’ book gave me with a chance of
vividly dreaming of a magical world. Whereas, watching the ‘Harry Porter’ movie
was just not enough to my imagination. What I want to tell from this story is
that book roles like teachers for teenagers to let them think more creatively
by imaginations.
In conclusion, I firmly
maintain that it is better way to learn more by reading books rather than
watching TV on account of the reasons that I mentioned above: books can inspire
people’s dreams and books can have children think creative.
