Some people argue that it is ideal
for people to learn about life through their own experiences. However, I definitely
believe that people should listen to their advice of friends and family. This
is not only because they have a great opportunity to broaden their perspectives
and insights toward the world, but also because this comparatively prevents
them from meeting unexpected and unnecessary events in life.
First of all, it is better to hear and
get the advice of family and friends since people can expand their
understanding and views of the world. This is due to the fact that when they
have some troubles in life, people are better able to deal with them with the
new methods that they did not think and try. To illustrate this point, when I was
a high school student, I was able to have my best friend in the senior year.
Before we had a strong friendship, we had had to go through a severe conflict
due to a misunderstanding for the previous year. In order to solve the matter
quickly, I urgently asked her to talk with me and to handle this problem without
considering her mind. So, she upset more and this conflict was not solved
easily. However, after I earned the advice from my mother’s experience, I decided
to wait for her and later deliver my sincerity in the letter. By doing so, my
friend’s mind was increasingly relieved and in the end, we became the best
friend in life. This incident absolutely made me understand more of others and
broaden my opinion and the point of view toward life.
Secondly, by listening to others’
advice, people can avoid to experience unanticipated matters in life. This is
evident when one ponders that since a life is full of numerous unexpected
events, getting the wisdom which friends and family have realized when going
through many things allows people to prevent unnecessary events in life. For
instance, before I entered my college, I was able to hear my father’s advice
that it is a great idea to join several clubs in school and make a number of
friends. Thus, this advice helped me to have a good chance to meet a large
number of friends and get along well with them. So, I always was not alone and
this made me feel pleasant and satisfied every day. Unfortunately, a friend
that I met in a literary club had trouble making friends because she did not
join many clubs during the first semester and lost the timing to enter lots of
club. This clearly shows that listening to others’ advice helps people to avoid
unnecessary problems.
To summarize, because people are
able to widen their views and insights about life as well as know what they
have to do in order to prevent uncomfortable events, it is important that they
learn about life by listening to the advice of friends and family.
