▶ Your Answer :
University students are
adults, and they believe that they can decide whether or not they attend
classes. They also think attending classes is an option to them. However, I
firmly argue that attendances of universities students are mandatory because
attending classes is related to students’ academic achievements, socialization
opportunities, and a critical standard for estimating students.
First
of all, attending classes leads to higher achievement in the classes. Students
can concentrate on topics and issues that teachers deliver. In addition,
Students can instantly question to teacher or lecturer about what they do not
understand in the classes. Many researches consistently say that students can
understand the topics more clearly when they attend the classes. Professors
also know that students who attend their classes well have got higher grades
than others.
Furthermore,
attending classes is a good social activity. Students can grow their
socialization skills when students discuss on a topic in the class. Also, each
student may have a different opinion, and they exchange their opinions and
obtain a variety of thinking from classmates. They can enlarge their view of
the topics by discussing in the classes. My personal experiences prove this.
When I was a university student in Korea, I attended classes without an absence.
So, I have good understanding of the subjects and a wide range of perspectives
in the topics that I discussed in classes with my classmates.
Lastly,
attendance is a standard for estimate students’ diligence. Professors grade not
only their understandings, but also their attendances. A purpose of
universities is to estimate students’ abilities such as performance,
achievement and diligence. Although a student shows a great ability in the
class, the ability is useless if the student is not industrial. In many
companies’ human resource departments, diligence is more important standard to
hire employee than other abilities. So, students must attend their classes.
There are many reasons that university
students should be required to attend classes. Some of these reasons are that
attending classes generally causes students to have achievement in their works,
to socialize their classmates, and to have good attitudes. For these reasons, I
strongly believe that attending classes must be required for university
students. |
