▶ Your Answer : An ongoing debate exists over whether
watching a performance in person is preferable to viewing it on television or
not. Some contend it is better to watch performances on television. However, I firmly
believe that watching performances in a person is far better than viewing it on
television. There are several reasons for my opinion, but the two most
crucial ones are as follows. First, people feel the whole atmosphere in the theater.
Second, people are able to have a strong relationship with other people.
To begin with, people can feel the whole
mood of the performance when they watching a performance in a person. Putting
it differently, people are able to watch performers’ expressions or finger
movements that can not be seen on television. According to the survey conducted
by Tokyo University, 87% of responders answered that they prefer to watch
performances at the theater, not in their home. Even one of responders said
that he had an opportunity to participate on performance in the middle of it
and he can not forget the experience of that time. Also, he never watch
performances at his home after that experience at the theater.
In addition, going to the theater to watch
performance is a great chance to build a relationship with other people who are
not familiar. When I was a freshman in the University, I had a friend who was not
familiar with me. One day, he suggested me to go to the theater with him to
watch performance. After watching it, our relationship had been far stronger
than before. Furthermore, we became the best friend until now and we think
watching performance was the best chance to be closer.
In a nutshell, it is manifest that watching
performances on television might be comfortable for some people. However, as I mentioned
above, it is still better to watching performances at the theater than viewing
it on television. |
