First of all, it
is much beneficial for children to play in competition or contests because it can
teach them that it`s important to do their best. To be specific, the best way
to become good at something is to try harder even they don`t feel like it. In
addition, if they achieve difficult something with their best efforts, they
feel a sense of accomplishment, which as a result it allows them to stay ahead,
attain personal growth. For example, when I was younger, I joined a baseball
team. Since our coach pushed us to give 100 percent. Even though it was very
hard time for me, but I tried to give my best efforts in order to win a
baseball tournament baseball. Finally our team could win a baseball tournament.
Through this experience, I could realize that if I do my best, I can always
accomplish what I want. Therefore, playing sports in competition or contests
has an advantageous effect on children.
Second, playing
sports in competition or contests can make children stay physically healthy. If
children play sports in competitions or contests, they would spend more time
practicing sports because it induces a sense of rivalry. As a result, they can greatly
improve their physical health. In addition, staying physically healthy
sometimes guarantees maintaining mental health. For example, when I was
younger, I was a member of soccer team. We spent scores of time practicing
soccer in order to win a one of the famous soccer competition in our town. At
that time, it was very hard time, but looking back on it, these experiences now
play important role in maintaining both my physical and mental health when compared
to other friends. Thus, it is very clear that participating a competition or
