▶ Your Answer : Most students get a stress cause their exam. They get a score after exam. Some people think that grading encourages students to learn but other people think that it is not. However, I agree with this statement because exam makes student feel a sense of achievement and it give student a motivation to study.
First of all, students achievement stimulated by having grades as outside incentive. They study hard to get a high grades even if students are not interested in a subject. For example, my friend Hana doesn't have any interest in physics. However, she knew that she would take a physics test and she always wanted to get a good grade. Though she doesn't like physics, she studied really hard for grade. Finally, she got a good grade and she said that she learned about physics a lot. If she didn't take test, she might be never studied physics.
Second of all, grading provides students with concrete evidence of their scholarly progress. If there were no grades, students would not know how measure their performance. For instance, some alternative schools don't grade their students. Students don't have worry about their grades. But, these schools' result of college entrance exam are bad. Students don't have to study hard because there are no way to grade their educational ability.
In conclusion, I think that grading must exist because it encourages students to learn. Through grading, students achievement stimulated and grading provides students with concrete evidence of their scholarly progress. For these reasons, I agree with this statement that grading encourages students to learn.
