▶ Your Answer :
It is always
difficult to fathom what others think, but my opinion in regard to the given
topic is adamant. I believe that every member in a group have to be acquired
same score for project for the following subsequent reasons.
To start with, There
is no method to evaluate each group members individually. A teacher assigns a group
project and only checks the result. Since the final outcome is only one thing
that the teacher can use to size up the students, diverse grading for them in the same group might not seem convincing. To explain, the teacher cannot figure out
how proportion each member contributed in the project exactly. For example, one
renders all of the organization of the presentation and the other has a speech for the
presentation in class. They consent for their role distribution. However, if the
speaker obtains higher grade than the other because the teacher is impressed
by his eloquence, the other can regard this situation as unfair. Therefore, all
members in a group have to be acquired the same grade because the result would be rendered
by the sum of their efforts which other people cannot entirely discern.
In addition, the
purpose of the group project is to practice teamwork. Diverse grading cannot be selected
in teamwork project. To be more specific, whether all members participate or
not, it is also one of the tasks that they are responsible for. A teacher can
evaluate each student by personal assignment. However, the teacher gives a
group project to size up their cooperative abilities. For example, when I was a college
student, I had a group project in humanity class. Since all of the group members
were proficient, I felt that we could become the best team in this project.
However, the topics that each member in my group wanted to study were all different
and we could not make a harmony. We decided to prepare three parts of
presentation and oneself. At the day of the presentation, we all had a speech for the
part that each member prepared. Even though the presentation was perfect, and
we all showed one’s own extraordinary ability in the project, we could acquire
high grade. Because the purpose of the project was to evaluate collaborating
ability. I learned the meaning of the group project and acknowledged the
result.
Taking all these
things into account, I advocate that all members in a group project should be
given the same grade for the two crucial reasons mentioned above, which are the
purpose of the group project and no objective standard to grade differently for
teacher.
