▶ Your Answer :
Many think
that to be experts in their field should be a top priority for teachers.
Contrary to popular belief, I think that making a connection with students is
more important to teachers for two reasons. One is that close relationship with
students is an essential component of being good teachers and other is that
teachers could teach students in stable moods.
To begin
with, I believe that the role of teachers contains a capability to relieve
their followers. Teaching academic matters is only one of the duties of
teachers. Students problem is not always related to advancing their ability to
learn or successful academic accomplishments. When they suffer from various
comprehensions, they desperately need an advisor who could handle their crisis
wisely. If there is no sense of connection between teachers and students,
students would hardly talk to teachers about their condition and eventually be
frustrated for a long time. Several studies have shown that the students who
have ideal mentors to talk with tend to be more kind and thoughtful the
students who haven’t.
On top of
that, teachers could work with a pleasant mind when they are close to students.
By building the relationship with students, they recognize the presence of
advocators, who are willingly helping them at any circumstances. If teachers
have failed to make an intimidate interaction with students, they would take a
hard time in every moment they lecture. Students would pay less attention to
their lecture, which makes the relationship more fragile and awkward. As this
vicious cycle repeat, teachers would feel their job is not appropriate to them
and their workplace is uncomfortable. For example, one of my high school
teachers was very sensitive and emotional. Although she was not considered as a
teacher who lectures well, sometimes she shared her concerns with us so we
could stay in close with the teacher. When she’s mood awful, she used the
full-time lecture to describe her dismal situation. However, as our bond was
well developed, we could cheer her up so that she could become a healthy minded
teacher again.
To sum up,
I support the idea that teachers should establish fine connections with their
students for two major reasons. As I mentioned above, a connection between
teachers and students could benefit both sides. |
