Children usually have relatively less things to do compared
to their parents. Some people think it is too harsh to impose children heavy
requirements of household chores. They prefer to give children more free time to
spend their time on something meaningful to them, such as play or study. However,
in my opinion, I believe that children should use their time to do household chores
rather than to play and study for two essential reasons.
To begin with, performing what all members of the family
participate in could build childhoods a sense of responsibility. For doing chores,
youngsters must set a goal that should be accomplished by cooperations. Under
this circumstance, they begin to recognize their parents and older siblings as coworkers,
not a person who just serve everything they want. Also, they could learn how to
deal with their younger brothers or sisters, contrary to periods when they did
not yet learn to finish some tasks related to house chores. They could progress
their ability to pay attention to communal problems.
On top of that, focusing only to study or play could
make children egocentric. Because studying and playing are things that young people
could fundamentally benefit only themselves, there are lots of possibility that
when they are grown up, they become a person with selfish, calculating characteristics.
By setting chores top priority, they could avoid of being a person greedy and
lacking social ability to hang out with other people well. Several studies have
show that a person who has established well personality stemmed from his youth
experience that conducting many chores tend to be more captivative and
attractive than a person who lacks those experiences. This result means that a difference,
even if it seems unnoticeable on the surface, in one’s childhood could make far-reaching
impact on one’s whole life.
To sum up, having a lot of time to do house chores
will make youngsters more responsible thus attractive. It will be a significant
asset for children. In this regard, I firmly assert that children should use
their time to to household chores more than other things such as playing or
studying. |
