▶ Your Answer : An ongoing debate exists over whether we can get lessons about life from games or not. Some people argue that playing games does not teach us anything and rather is a waste of time. However, I believe that people can reap numerous benefits from games since they help people to develop social skills and observe rules of the society in their life.
First of all, Games allow us to build up social skills that are important in our lives. That is, generally more than two people are needed to play games. While playing together, they learn how to interact with each other, cooperate and sacrifice for others. The best example of this is sports games. When playing a soccer game, players make efforts for the common goal, cooperating and cheering with each other. Therefore, these social skills obtained from games are invaluable because we cannot live alone in the world.
Second, games help us learn about the importance of rules and follow the rules while living in the society. This is because games always have their own rules and we should follow them otherwise, we can lose or spoil the game. For instance, when a teacher just tells students the regulations such as "do not run in the classroom", students easily forget about them later. In contrast, if a teacher teachs the rules of the class through a game to students. they find it interesting and effectively learn about them. This is since if they do not observe the "do not run" rule , they would get a penalty and so, they realize that they should not ignore the rule to win the game. Therefore, people learn better keeping the law and regulations is very important.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that we could learn useful lessons about life by playing games since games equip us with well-developed social skills and make us a better person who is observant to society. In the end, people who have these skills and manners of life contribute to make the world a more friendly and safe place to live together. |
