There is no one living without stress. Thus, the best way to live as happy as we can is trying to reduce our stress as much as possible. Today, with people feeling more stress ever than before, people are very concerned how to reduce their stress. Some people state that the best way to relax and reduce stress is by interacting with other people. However, I believe spending some time alone is much effective when trying to relax and reduce stress.
To begin with, if one spends some time alone, he can refresh himself. One of the reasons people feel stress is when people have a lot of fatigue accummulated in their body. Since they are tired, everything they do will be very difficult which leads to more stress. Thus, one should first try to refresh itself by taking some rest in a quiet room alone or get some sleep. For instance, my grandfather, Bob once suffered from intense stress. In order to reduce his stress, he ate alot of vitamins and medicines. Not only that, he also tried to interact with other people to have some fun like playing tennis or going to the movies. Unfortunately, he still felt stressful. So my grandmother, Mary, suggested Bob to stay at home alone and get some sleep. Bob first thought sleeping would not relieve his stress. Strinkinly, after an hour of nap he felt much refreshed and he was able to do his work much efficiently. Now, whenever Bob feels stressful, he goes to his room alone and get some sleep which will refresh him as well as reduce his stress level.
Moreover, if one spends some time alone one can plan for the future more systematically. In today's society, accomplishing a lot of things in a limited time is important. If one fails to do this, he or she is likely to gain stress. Therefore, one should have a good plan to finish all the works. Spending some time alone can be a great means of doing this. One should spend some time alone thinking about what to do next and plan for the future. If one always spends his time with others feeling excited all the time, time will fly with nothing done which will probably lead to stress. Based on my experience, until last year, I did not like to stay alone so I usually spent my time with my friends. I felt really happy and excited with my friends. However, after spending time with my friend for about several months, I ended up with no accomplishments. I felt really stressful when I found out that I was too excited that I did not do my works. So what I did was I stayed at my room alone, thinking about what to do first. Every morning and evening I spend about an hour in my room alone thinking about my future and planning what to do. With these time spent alone, I accomplished many things which I could not have done if I spent as same as last year.
Spending time alone is very crucial to one's physical conditions and future life since these factors can lead to stress. Thus, one should try to spend some time alone. |
