▶ Your Answer : Since Henry Ford started mass production of cars, the production of cars has been steadily increased and it is reported that it shows no sign of slowing down. However, some argue that there will be less cars in use in twenty years than now, given that new type of transportation will replace it. However, I disagree with this idea because the world population, accessibility of cars and industrialization on a world scale has been growing up, not down. To start with, possessing cars nowadays is easier than ever. Before mass production of cars was introduced to the world, owning a car was the thing of only rich people. Possession of cars was considered direct manifestation of one's wealth and success. However, this paradigm has shifted dramatically after Henry Ford started mass production; the cost of making cars has cut significantly, which directly was translated into the cost of owning. Different companies started inventing new methods and materials, which helped reduce the cost even further. Even if what is called developed countries have already reached the peak point of point of production; allowing everyone to have one car at least, there still are many more countries that still have a lot of rooms to fill in terms of production growth. Unless something big happens, the purchase of cars in these countries will not face down, thus in twenty years, there will be even more cars than there is today on a world scale. On top of that, population growth is another factor that stimulates the production of cars further. Again, developed counties are either very slow or stagnate when it comes to population growth, however, countries such as China produce more babies than ever before. Also, with medical science developed, what used to be considered as deadly is now curable. With better farming technic and medication, the population of the world is now on the upper side rather than down side. In twenty years, these more born babies will be at the point where they can drive cars, thus more cars will be on the street. To conclude, cars have already became indispensable item around the world. And the production of cars will see no sign of going down any time soon due to the fact that there will be more customers and cheaper and finer way of owing them. |
