Some people think that performing multiple projects concurrently is more efficient for a variety of reasons, such as its time saving and possibility to practice immediately when an idea comes up with. However, in my opinion, I think it is better idea starting a new project afterwards the previous one is thoroughly finished. This is because when you focus on only one project, you are able to optimize your ability so that you can produce better outcome and you can use you time very flexibly.
First of all, when you are dedicated only one thing at a time, you are more likely to work productively and achieve a better result. If you do some projects at the same time, it would be hard to fully focus on both projects. Assume that A project would go well and become burdensome, it could have an bad impact on B project. For example, the last semester, I was struggling to keep up with schoolwork and preparing my last film for graduation at the same time. Eventually I couldn’t help giving up preparing the film because it always disturbed me to study. Chasing two hares at once is difficult. After I decided to prolong pre-production of my film, I could do better job at school.
Secondly, you could be more flexible in terms of scheduling. There could be many meetings that you have to deal with. If you do multiple projects at once, you might get trouble with fixing a time for meetings since your opposite members have their own schedule. However, if you have only one project, you don’t need to take any risks that you should change your meeting time and even lose your faith. In addition, even though it is not a joint work but individual one, so there would be any problem with arranging a time with someone, it is not easy to spare your time evenly within the parameters of time.
To sum up, you can easily concentrate on a project and eventually generate better work as well as be more flexible when you plan your schedule. In this regard, I believe that it is more efficient way to complete one project and do the next one instead of doing multiple projects at the same time.
