Today, people willing to attend college or university are very common. Many people study and prepare hard in order to get accepted by the college and university they want to go. Even though the object is the same, the reason these people want to get into the school is different. Since I want to attend university in the future, I think people want to go to university because they can learn specific subject in more depth and they can meet variety of people.
To begin with, people try to get into the college because they can study profoundly. In high school, students learn a lot of subjects but learn only basic knowledge. This is because high school is comprised of different students with different interests. So the school cannot just teach them certain subject deeply. However, university or college is different. They divide students into groups according to their major. Because the group is consisted of people who have same interests, the school can provide advanced education related to their interests. For instance, my brother Max is very interested in biology. He loved biology since he was in high school. However, during his high school lives, he always complained that the school does not teach biology in depth which he is always curious about. After graduating high school, he attended university and majored in biology. Currently, he is very satisfied with how profoundly he studies biology in school unlike in high school. He states that all the questions he had when he was a high school were solved after learning more deeply in biology.
On top of this, there are variety of people in college and university. College and university are completely distinct from high school. There are not much students coming from far places to attend high school. However, in university, people from variety of places come to attend the school. For this reason, students can meet different students with variety of mindset or values which helps them to look the world more widely. For example, my sister Mary was very shocked when she first went to college. When she was in high school, her classmates were all from the same city she lived and they had many similarities. But when she first attended college, most of the people with same major were from different places. There were even students who had different nationality. At first, Mary had a hard time getting along with people who were very different from her. However, as time passed, she learned to understand different cultures and backgrounds which is essential ability in today's globalized world.
People attend university or college for meeting different people and learning a specific subject in more depth.
