Some people believe that investing in
laboratories to develop technology is the best way to advance a country. That
is, as the Soviet Union has previously earned its wealth and popularity in the
1950s, the nation could be strengthened through technological development. However,
that is not necessarily true. In fact,
it is evident that improving schools is the best way to advance a country,
since education generates righteous citizens and grants opportunities to discover
underprivileged geniuses.
First, education directly fosters a number of
enthusiastic and moral citizens. Even
though the effect of improving schools is not as immediate(ly seen) as building a laboratory, it has a long-term
effect by creating the well-educated next generation. According to a recent poll, the educated
people are more likely to vote and voice their opinions about (to) government,
consequently contributing to the betterment of that country. Merely
(‘merely’ carries a negative tone) learning how
the government functions can ultimately contribute to citizens’ informed
decisions in the future.
Furthermore, enhancing school systems gives
opportunities to the disadvantaged (underprivileged) geniuses. If the government prioritizes education as the foremost value of the nation, it will
eventually benefit by the excavation (discovering) of
geniuses. Thanks to financial aid
provided by the government, Dr. Kim was able to attend one of the most
expensive yet prestigious schools in Korea.
Consequently, Dr. Kim, a country boy from a very humble background,
became a leading scientist who has prompted the development of Nano (nano)technology. As shown, education is the best opportunity
for the government to selectively foster geniuses and future leaders of the
nation.
As such, improving school should undeniably
be the number one priority of the
government, since it creates enthusiastic citizens and gives opportunities to
the underprivileged geniuses.
