▶ Your Answer : Engineers and scientists have made groundbreaking technological achievements and improved the quality of life. Some people argue that paper books will still be used in the future although technological development enable students to use electronic devices instead of printed books. However, ignoring possible technological achievements that will be realized in the future, they fail to consider the prospective benefits of electronic books that paper books do not have. Therefore, I strongly agree with the statement. To begin with, electronic books is likely to be used by most students since students will be freed from heavy books by carring one electronic book, much lighter than a number of paper books. Because students can download contents of many, different kinds of books from the Internet, they will not need to carry many books with the help of electronic devices. For example, in 2011, the ministry of education in South Korea had invented tablet PC that include contents of all textbooks and decided to provide this tablet PC to all students in the country to lessen the weights of students' bags and enable them convenience. Thus, paperbooks will not be used in the future classes. In addition, students will not utilize paper books since electronic books can provide many useful functions that paper books cannot provide. By using electronic device as a textbook, students can write on their textbooks and fix their writings easily. For instance, a students has to erase when he/she has to revise writings on his/her textbook. Yet an electronic book enable the student to fix his/her writing by a click. Not only this advantage, but there are also another beneficial function that students may have by using electronic books. With the electronic books that are connected to the Internet, students can be helped by the Internet at anytime and anyplace to study. They can refer to the Internet dictionary while they are studying foreign language. Also, they can find experiment video about physics phenomenon that they are eager to see to understand the phenomenon. Therefore, electronic books will be a prevailing medium as a textbook for the next generation. In sum, I think that paper books will not be utilized as textbooks for our children. Some people may disagree with the statement. However, technological progress will enable students to experience a number of advantages of electronic books. Therefore, studetns will no longer use printed books in the future.
