An ongoing debate exists on whether
teachers should not tell their social and political opinions to students in the
classroom. Regarding this controversial issue, I strongly support that teachers
can teach students by giving their own views in the classroom. The reason behind
this is that showing social issues and views to students is one of important
parts of education. Additionally, it helps students to develop their own
opinion.
To begin with, teachers should show
their social and political views to students in the class since demonstrating
own view to public is necessitate (a necessary) part of students' learning. Some people
may argue that it will lead students to have biased view to the (on) society
especially controversial political and social issues. However, before this
concern occurs, teachers are of greater help because they can show how to
present their critical opinions by explaining step by step. In turn(,) students learn how to deal with the argument in a
logical way not just insisting their views. According to the study released by
the Bain and Company, most surveyed respondents state that the key to their success to show their own opinions on the public stage
with social issues (expressiveness) is (are) hands-on
lessons in the classroom at school days. To (be) specific, they were able to
learn how to attract opponents' attentions and how to employ proper implements
that support their social and political opinions. If had not been for their
learning in the classroom, they would not have performed
the address(ed) on their social opinion effectively.
Furthermore, if teachers make their
social and political opinion in the classroom, students can (be) encourage(d) to
make their own voices onto (about) social and political issues. In the classroom(,) students are given the chance to learn extensive
views of (on)
social issues which are designed well to understand in the appropriate way.
(This sentence is too vague.) Students can make
their own decision on the base(d on) of
these evidences given by teachers, and can compare teachers' views on the certain issue with
(to) their standpoints. From my own experience,
when I was in the middle school, one day my teacher took the social issue
whether government should spend more money on expending
(expanding) zoo. As long as she explained both
sides of argument, I decided my view with ease and was able to enhance my
argument by comparing my teacher's view opposite (to)
my viewpoint. In this way, appealing teachers' view on social and political
issue in the classroom is helpful to make students' own thinking process and results (decision).
In a nutshell, I have no doubt that
teachers are better telling their social and political opinion to students.
This is because students are better able to learn how to present their views in
public. What's more, they can easily make their own social and political
opinion with teachers' view.
