There has been heated debate whether leader
should let the members feel their ideas have influenced decision making. Some
may think it is not necessary while other(s)
deem otherwise. However, I feel that it would be favorable to take in some of
the ideas in the process of making decision. This is because not only it will
motivate workers to bring up better ideas but it also can (also) ease the tension between leader and the members
which all can flourish the benefit of the
organization. This is why I support the statement given above.
The first reason for my opinion is that
members of the organization are motivated to think of innovative and creative
ideas for better decision making. In this heavily competitive society, firms
race (against) one another for bigger market
share. Corporation(s) can do this by embracing
various unique and differentiated ideas from (their)
staffs. Due to the hierarchy system
in firms most of the ideas from lower position of the staffs are screened
before it (they)
ever reach to the president. This fact actually decline
(discourage) employees from thinking (bringing)
innovative idea for the company. To take this into specific illustration, my
uncle who is currently working in Samsung Electronic claims that his company
has became global company because the President Lee Gun Hee knows how to
inspire staffs. Samsung (inspires its workers by)
embrace(ing) many of ideas regardless of the
position of the staff (they come from) which
incur workers to believe their work is actually helping Samsung to flourish. This severely inspires workers to think of new and
differentiated ideas for Samsung.
This example illustrates how corporation(s)
need to embrace ideas of staffs which can set off for workers to work harder.
Another reason for my argument is that it
can alleviate the conflict between the leader and staffs of the (an) organization.
Though CEO and employees are in relation of
symbiosis there are a lot of troubles between them. Especially ever since the
2008 economic crisis the salary of staffs have been mostly slashed or stayed
still while CEO’s salary have increased. This has (created)
severe division between leader and the employee. According to the recent survey(,) number of protests done
by labor union has increased during 2012. Demonstrators were not pleased with
the fact that corporations need to compensate better service and show some respect to their staffs. So if leader
shows that they actually appreciate the ideas of staff(s)
and how much they value employees, it can somewhat resolve the conflict between
the two.
(Corporation = Company, ‘company’
is more generalized term, while ‘corporation’ refers to the companies having a
specific ownership structure. Google it.)
Subsequent to mulling over this query, the
head of the organization should try to show the members that their ideas were
played pivotal role in decision making. This can promote staffs to stimulate to
work harder. In addition it will relieve some of the conflict between boss and
employees. In this regard I agree with the given statement.
