There have been varying opinions whether it is
important to know events around the world, even if they are (do) not
affect our life. Some people argue that we do not have to know events around
the world. However, I have a different idea. I believe that we should know
events happening around the world. This is because, the more information
we have, the more we will get. (This statement is
vague. Your standpoint has to be more solid and specific.)
To begin with, it is helpful for modern people to know
events in the world. In other words, if we know events in the world well, we (it) could make (result in)
productive activities in society. Also, knowing the events has many benefits.
And this benefit has positive effect not just on oneself, but also on many
other matters such as solved personal
problems and socialistic (social)
problems. (You need to have a stronger argument in
order to receive full evaluation on this paragraph. There is no argument on
exactly how one can benefit by knowing about the rest of the world.)
On top of that(,) if we
do not know (what is) happening in the world, we
would not be able to help each other. Putting it differently, without
information for (about) world events, we can make egoism (be
egoistic) in our society. (Can we call
self-centered-thinking as “egoism” when the cause of it is lack of
information?) A recent survey from Statistics Commission in United
Nations revealed an interesting result. 96 percent of those surveyed, having (who had)
a few information about world events people,
(were found to be) acting more selfish and
individualistic. This high percentage provides a basis for opinion mentioned
already. This is outcome is because do not know information (not knowing) about the world brings out many
detrimental influences include (including self-centeredness) makes egoism and leads
to lack of interest in society. Through survey’s result and effects,
we can know that knowing (having)
information about the world is rational behavior.
(This paragraph was more specific and made
sense. However, there still is a room for improvement on grammar.)
To conclude integrating the negative and positive aspects mentioned above, I strongly believe that it is important to know events around the world, even if they are not affect our life.
