Some people may argue that a job with high salary is much better than a job with long vacation. They may think that making money is more important than taking enough time for vacation. However, focusing on making a lot of money only, they fail to consider the importance of vacation time and malice of jobs with high salary but less time off. Therefore, I strongly disagree with those people and think a job with more vacation time is better. To begin with, occupations that can provide a long vacation time is more beneficial since it can guarantee enough time to recover from work stress. With enough vacation time, people can do things that will refresh themselves and thus recover from the fatigue and stress completely. For example, workers with long vacation can have a long journey to foreign countries or spend plenty of time to enjoy hobby activities. By doing so, they will not accumulate their fatigue from work and become fully prepared to go back to their workplace again. According to the research that was made by the Korea Labor Research Institute in 2010, workers whose vacation is longer than 3 weeks per year showed less work stress and higher work efficiency than people whose vacation is shorter than 3 weeks. This indicates that jobs with longer vacation is a virtue since it ensures people to have enough time for recovery. In addition, the malice of jobs with high salary and short vacation time explains why jobs with longer vacation have merits. It is true that workers whose job pays them a lot earns more money than workers whose vacation is long. However, they do not have enough time to spend their money for their own pleasure. Although a few people might be happy from the large number of bank accounts, most people cannot feel happiness from the money itself. They are living less happier lives than people with long vacation. For instance, a recent survey that was made by Choong-Ang Daily in Korea revealed that the happiness score of lawyers, doctors and bankers, people whose jobs that make a lot of money, was poorly smaller than those of people whose work and life are well-balanced. This says why people should pursue jobs with more vacation time. In sum, despite jobs with longer vacation may pay people less money, the good aspects of such jobs guarantee people to live with balanced lifestyles and thus more beneficial than jobs with hectic lifestyles. Therefore, I strongly agree with the above statement. Considering the ultimate goal of life is pursuing own happiness, people should choose occupations that provide longer vacation time.
