▶ Your Answer : Some people say that students are influenced more by thier teachers than their friends. However I think that students are influenced more by their friends for several reasons : friends share more things in common and friends feel more comfortable than the teachers. To begin with, students share more things in common with their friends unlike with their teachers. Students go to school everyday and they spend most of their time there with friends. They are all in same situation, having similar problems and thoughts, and therefore it is easy for them to share their opinions with friends. By sharing common things with friends, students tend to believe and trust each other, depending on one another. This makes students be influenced by their friends more. On the other hand, although teachers spend time with their students as well, teachers have to care for every single students in class, resulting in lack of attention to focus on indivisuals. This affects how the students feel about their teachers and in the end less trust for them, less influenced. To be specific, there are a lot of cases that students listen to their friends' opinion at once while refuse to listen to their parents' opinion thinking that they are just nagging. This shows the reason why students are influenced more by their friends than by their teachers.
In addition, students feel more comfortable when they are with their friends rather than their teachers. Students and teachers are different in many ways no matter how hard the teachers try to be friendly with students. Teachers' job is to lead the students in a right way and also to give knowledge to students. In this way, there tend to be a gap between teachers and friends. Making friends feel easy to dicuss problems or matters that one has and resulting that they listen to each other well and be influenced. To be specific, all friends of mine and including myself, we find each other for advice when we are in trouble. This shows that we influence one another more than the teachers do.
In conclustion, as students are likely to share many things in common and comfortable with their friends, students are influenced more by their friends than by their teachers.
