These days, I can easily hear people repeating a certain sentence: "It's hard just to live." There also has been a reasearch that showed one of the mostly used foreign words among Koreans is 'stress'. As we can see, we are living stressful days, and as many others do, I myself also have figured out my own ways of efficiently relieving stress, which are the best ways to comfort your mind from what I believe.
First of all, simply talking to friends open-mindedly about your daily life can be a good prescription to getting too much stress. Actually it does not really have to be a friend; it can be anyone you can talk to in a comfortable way: parents, teachers, or any other people. In most stressful situations taking place at school, offices and public places, one cannot express one's feelings directly to the subject who cause one to feel stressful, hence seal them in one's mind. This can make one feel very uncomfortable, and this is why stress can be relieved simply by spilling out one's concerns and complaints. For example, there is a TV program called 'Healing Camp', and the guests who appear in this program are usually entertainers who get formidable amount of stress daily. As the MC keeps listening to his/her story, one would talk about one's private life, past he went through, difficulties he encountered, and other stories in an honest and comfortable way. And usually, those guests went back with healed minds.
Another good way of relieving stress is listening to music. The genres of them doesn't matter, since all of them are capable of healing one's mind. Every songs include certain feelings of human in it, and they can express that feeling instead of the listener. For example, I had a fight with my parent just a couple of days ago because of our different perspective, and both of us were not ready to accept the other's view. With a closed mind in a closed room, I turned on the song which could express my feelings right at that time very effectively, and after replaying the song few more times, I was ready to apologize to the one who I yelled at several minutes ago.
According to my experiences, both listening to music and talking to someone who I regard as comfortable were quite efficient when relieving stress. Therefore, I do not doubt that these are the best ways to keep our health in this stressful society.
