Undoubtedly, governments have limited budgets so, it is debatable whether it is more effective for them to spend budgets to enhance Internet access than to improve public transportation. In general, the consensus view seems to be that governments should broaden the accessibility of the Internet. However, in my opinion, I firmly believe that governments have to improve public transportation for the following two subsequent reasons.
First and foremost, developed hygienic public transportation reflects their countries, which means that it can give tourists a good impression or images. To be specific, many countries make money by improving their public transportation because it is a good chance to be ranked in the top ranking. In fact, since tourists often utilize public transportation services for their trip, it is important to offer them sanitary public transportation. For example, there is a poll conducted by the Korean Tour Organization with random their 1500 citizens as respondents. The purpose of the survey is to understand the importance of sanitary public transportation in terms of foreigners. The majority of respondents argued that their cleaned subway is proud of them because the Korea government tries to improve their environments of public transportation. Also, an overwhelming 92 percent of respondents said that they have seen many tourists satisfied with our clear subway and bus services while traveling.
In addition, enhancing public transportation is more practical than improving Internet access because spending money to refine their public transportation is helpful in commuting. Specifically, working people who live from their company away long-distance often use their bus and subway. If governments do not invest in public transportation, the interval of them would increase, which means that they would have difficulty commuting. My own experience is a compelling example of this. Four years ago when I was a university student, the distance between my home and my school was too long to walk. Also, I did not have my own car, so that I had to use a subway. At that time, since my country did not invest in improving public transportation, to take a subway on time, I had to wake up very early. In fact, our subway operated only three ones. Through this experience, I realized that public transportation is closely related to our daily life and I desired for my government to improve public transportation that general citizens use.
In conclusion, taking the good impression of a country and the improvement of commuting into consideration, I strongly believe governments should spend money to enhance public transportation. Never should we forget that this issue may have a huge impact on our future.
