▶ Your Answer : It is of great worth to discuss whether or not all teachers should be required to update their knowledge every five years. The answer to this question can be various depending on each individual's perspective. As far as I am concerned, I agree with the given statement for several reasons. First of all, updating knowledge on a regular basis enables teachers to succeed in their careers because it creates an optimal condition to maintain their decent job in a confident mind setting. In our society, people these days have a hard time maintaining their jobs because there are lots of prominent rivals in a harsh job market. It is tremendously difficult to keep their well off jobs without newly updating knowledge and in-depth understandings related to their careers. According to the research conducted by DS, one of the renowned research centers in South Korea, the teachers who regularly updated their knowledge according to the schools' policy more tended to be promoted than those who rarely did. The same study also noted that the former out-competed the latter in all aspects of their work performances. It indicates that updating knowledge is not only compulsory for all teachers but also beneficial for them. Secondly, every teacher has to be required to update their knowledge every five years, so that they are able to teach their students with updating academic resources. Students are easily affected by their teacher, and it is crucial fact in an educational field because the more a teacher is equipped with updating knowledge, the more the teacher can create a good atmosphere, such as arduous and enthusiastic ambiance, in class. The effect of mood in class is far more important than people think, so students should be taught by knowledgeable teachers who regularly update their knowledge. The perfect example of this is my former high school. My school was a private school and the school's policy was so loose that most teachers in the school did not try to update their knowledge. Because of this, my school had very low grades among the city schools. Then, one day, the new head of school undertook a project to alter the atmosphere of the school. He tried to change the school's policy and made all teachers update their knowledge every five years. Now, present students in the school like to study extensive information that teachers give, and finally, my school became one of the prestigious schools in our city. To summarize what I mentioned above, I am for the notion that all teachers should be required to attend regular updating courses for both themselves and their students. |
