▶ Your Answer :
In today's complicated society, it is believed that the information that new media offer to civic people is trustworthy. Some people advocate that a number of contents and vivid spot materials make them reliable. However, I disagree with this view. I firmly believe that people should not believe the new media completely. This is because first, articles by new media are also made by humans with diverse views and second, it can sometimes federate with a government or a company.
First of all, articles cannot include perfectly objective coverage. It is because most contents new media convey also made by reporters like historian who wrote many ancient books. That is, all articles are not raw truth as they need to be processed to be able to offered precisely with specific views. Then, they are framed into a reporter's particular standpoint. For example, although a real occurrence brought about and the truth is only one, the point about the happening can be different in accordance to new media. Such different perspectives as to a occurrence also make distinct preference among people who choose particular media to subscribe or watch. The methods media put importance differently are represented in content or structure aspects. In case of content facet, different media reporters can stealthily imply their perspective on the articles and also they can use different headlines structurally. Thus, it is hard to say that new media are reliable.
On top of that, sometimes the new media cooperation are involved in other profit relationships such as governments or other commercial companies. The fact that the new media also need funds to be operated cannot make them completely independent themselves. That is the reason why they sometimes distress between the sense of responsibility about dealing an article with objective views at most and inevitable profitable relationship with commercial markets like advertisements. In addition, governments can overpower the new presses wielding their power because they want not to be criticized by citizens. Such many outer pressures make them confused. Such confliction sometimes make unaccurate information and results in corruption. Hence, the remark that new media are fair information provider is little absurd.
In conclusion, it is my belief that new media cannot be completely impartially about their articles. It it because their coverages are also written by human also they sometimes have the probability to collude other companies or governments. Maybe, there would not be fair media even in the more developed future because media cannot deviate from framing specific truth. It just requires the enhancement of the civic's views beholding the world.
