There has been an argument whether class attendance should not be required or not. As far as I’m concerned, university students should required to attend classes. This is because class attendance improves students’ level of knowledge and aim of university is to prepare students for the working world.
First of all, students can develop their level of schorlaship. They can study in a structured enviornment when they attend class regularly. Even through most of university students are officially “adult”, they’re still not mature enough and can neglect their studies. Furthermore, professors in university are experts in their fields. Thus, students can have a lot of opportunity to learn and communicate with professors who are specialist in their area by attending class mendatorily.
Secondly, the main purpose of university is to educate students to adjust to society. In working life, consistency and diligence are important factor to get success in modern world. Also, a few jobs allot workers, especially recent graduates, the freedom and flexibilty to work whenever and wherever they want. When the students become employees, they should follow the regular working time and requirements. In this regard, I firmly believe that mandatory attendance gives students more opportunity to succeed.
All in all, I strongly agree with the statement that class attendance should be required. By attending class mandatorily, students can improve their level of knowledge and get used to society easily. |
