▶ Your Answer : Some people may disagree with the statement and think that there are better ways to make students to be interested in a subject. However, they fail to consider the benefits of making students to know the usefulness of subjects that they are taught in school. Thus, I strongly agree with the assertion that teachers can attract students into certain subjects by explaining them how the knowledge can be applied in the real world. To begin with, the real examples that are explained by the knowledge from textbooks will attract students to study hard by spurring student's curiosity. Studying the knowledge from their classes, students will be able to observe that it can explain the real world problems. Thus, they will be thrilled and their curiosity will be spurred. Now, students will want to know more about the subject to understand other phenomenons in the real world. For example, Physics classes in school can let students know why all things fall to the ground, how the moon rotates around the Earth and why light is reflected in water. When students observe their knowledge can explain such phenomenons, they will be eager to know causes of other complex phenomenons and become interested in the Physics. This indicate that students can be encouraged to study certain subject harder with the real world applications. In addition, by letting know students that knowledge from textbooks are really beneficial to their lives, students will concentrate their efforts on studying the subject. If teachers explain how the knowledge from the subject can be used to make money or useful to live in a society, there will be no students who are not interested in the subject. For instance, if a student know that the knowledge from his economics class can be used to earn money in the stock market, he will want to know more about the economics. Not only this example, but also if a student learn that knowledge from social study classes can be used to protect her basic rights and live as a civil citizen in the society, she will study hard not to damage herself after graduation. These say that explaining how the subject can help students is a good way to seduce them to study. In sum, despite some people may think that other ways are better to encourage students, I strongly disagree with those people. The mertis of explaining students how the subject is useful in the real world cannot be overshadowed by other methods to spur students. Therefore, teachers should use real world applications of knowledge from textbooks to make their student to be interested in their lectures.
