Many people, these days, think that every student
should have an equal opportunity to have higher education. In contrast to this
idea, I strongly believe that only good students should be available (able to
have) higher education. This is because smart students help each other
to study more efficiently and academically poor students easily fail to keep up
with the curriculum. (Your first argument sounds too
weak.)
Firstly, smart students support each other while
studying together which can improve their academic performance. It is because
they actually spend much time questioning each other and discussing the
material that they have learned at school. On the other hand, academically poor
students often get easily distracted, and do not care about what they are
learning during classes. For example, researchers have recently found out that
students who have better grade at school actually spent much time studying than
those who get lower grade. Plus, according one study from Korea Herald,
academically poor students often interrupt the class environment by distracting
other students who are trying to focus during classes. In this way, every
student should not have a chance to (for) higher education, but only those who have good
grades.
(This paragraph is almost complete in terms
of grade. Nice work! However, as I pointed out, you have to provide stronger
supporting reason for this argument.)
In addition, it is hard for academically poor students
to keep up with the higher education
curriculum. To have higher education(,) is students have to be prepared and should
already have some basic knowledge to learn something advanced. It, however,
would be hard to understand and follow the classes for those students who are
doing poorly at school. In this way, they might learn nothing, but fail the
class. My friend is the best example to illustrate this point. One of my
friends, Hannah, was performing bad academically in high school, but decided to
go to college to have higher education. While she was at school, she could not
handle all the essays, lab reports, and many reading assignment that she had to
do for her classes. Finally, she decided not
having higher education (drop out of
college), realizing her poor ability in learning.
In summary, I definitely think that only smart
students should have higher education. It is largely because smart student can
improve their academic performance, not
(without) being distracted by others. Plus, only
smart students can keep up with the curriculum in higher education.
