Some people think that friends have more influences on students than teachers. However, in my opinion, students are influenced by teachers in many ways. The reasons for this are that students get lessons from teachers and students tend to listen carefully to teachers.
To begin with, when students talk with their friends, they usually have a conversation, which include their funny story or everyday life story. However, they not only have a great conversation with teachers but also get lessons from teachers. For example, whenever I feel depressed or sad, I share my emotions with my friend, but I don’t really get advises from them. Although they are good listeners, they don’t influence me. It is true that I relieve my stress when I talk to my friends, but it doesn’t mean that I am influenced by my friends. It was always helpful for me when I ask advises to my teachers from high school. They gave me practical advises and it influence me a lot. In my case, I’m from South Korea, but I went to American high school. My math teacher in high school always praised me after I was done with hard homework. He told me that I did great job even if I had problem with understanding English. It motivated me to work on my homework more hardly and I got A in the math class.
Additionally, Students try to listen carefully to teachers because they know the most of teachers have great life experiences. They also know that it would be helpful for them. Even if student’s friends have some life experiences that they have gotten through, it cannot be compared with teacher’s life experiences. By listening to teachers’ life experiences, students can be influenced a lot. For instance, the story about my 6th grade teacher, which is that he went to best university in South Korea because his parents wanted him to go there, but he transfer to educational university because of his dream, always motivate me to keep chasing my dream.
In conclusion, as I just mentioned above, teachers have more influences on students than friends.
