Do
you agree or disagree with the following statement? A teacher's ability to
relate well to students is more important than his or her ability to impart
knowledge.
It is often said that teachers' first
priority is to communicate with students well and understand them from their
view point. However, I firmly believe that the teachers must concentrate on
instructing their students effectively rather than getting along with them
because of two reasons : (their responsibility
lies in) to let (letting their students) them be successful in life and to increase their
performance in class.
To begin with, the teachers' capability to
teach the students enables them to be successful in life. This is attributed to
the fact that thought by a teacher who has a(n)
efficient teaching skill, students get to be able to study in a more effective
way. By doing so, they can get good grades in school and end up going into one
of the famous universities in nation. Moreover, as modern society is becoming
increasingly competitive, today's job market requires job candidate with a
degree from noted universities. According to the Ministry of Labor of Korea in
2008, the degree coming from honorable universities was the most important component (qualification) in hiring
practice (recruiting),
taking up more than 70 percent of the final calls. The interviewers
significantly considered what university the applicants graduated. This implies
that the teacher's ability to instruct students in a better way has a direct
correlation with the students' success in the future.
In addition, being instructed by a teacher
who is competent in teaching, the students will increase their academic
performance by themselves. This is due to the fact that the teachers'
competence for teaching is one of the key motivators for students to perform
higher and improve themselves. According to a study conducted by University of
California at Los Angeles of the United States in 2010, there existed a huge difference between
two groups of students in achievement. Students in group A were thought (taught) by a teacher who is good at imparting (delivering) his knowledge to students and those in
group B were thought (taught) by an uninitiated instructor. The
researchers showed that the former group spent more hours studying by 25
percent and performed higher than the latter group. In particular, the students
in group A followed instructions, submitted assignments on time, and
participated in class discussion. On the other hand, those in group B dozed off
in class and lacked focus (showed
lower concentration on) in class materials. This implies that the higher
teachers' ability to teach students, the more the student pour (put efforts) in their study.
In brief, instructors' ability to give
knowledge to students is more important than maintaining a stable relationship
with the students by relating well to them.
All in all, teachers having a capacity to give a impressive lecture, students
will get better grades and be successful in the future through increasing their
academic performance.
(Well written. It’s solid
and concise with only a handful of noticeable grammatical mistakes. I promote
this one to the others, and I am certain that your essay will receive good mark
on the actual test, given that you managed your time well while writing this
one.)
