Some people think that it is better
to have a single source of news and stick with
(tO) it. However, in my opinion, people should
get news from a variety of sources in order to stay well-informed. This is
because some news sources have details which other sources lack, and because
every news source occasionally makes mistakes which may misinform us.
To begin with, each source of news
contains unique details about current news items
(issues). Therefore, the more new sources we use to learn about one
particular news (issue) item,
the better informed we will be about it. For example, I had always thought that
the one and only reason for global warming was carbon dioxide emissions,
based on what I saw on the news on TV. However, afterward
I found out (afterward) from a science magazine
that gases such as methane also contribute to the rise in temperature. If I had
not consulted (read) additional sources of news, I would still have an incomplete
understanding of the factors behind global warming.
On the top of that, if we rely on a
single source for our news, we are likely to be misinformed about a certain
situation. This is because every source of news is prone to making mistakes
from time to time. A few years ago, for instance, the news Web sites I subscribed to (for) reported
that the famous actress Hyunyoung Ko was pregnant and that she was putting her
career on hold for a while. However, later that day I happened to read an
article about her next film project in a local newspaper. The information on
the Web site (news)
had been inaccurate, and if I hadn't seen the other news source, I would have
believed (that) the information was correct.
To sum up, different new sources
contain unique details about each news item
(issue), and every new source makes mistakes
sometimes. In this regard, I agree with the statement that people should get
information from different news sources so that they can stay well-informed.
(This is a very neat essay,
and therefore well written. Your points were easy to understand and comfortable
to read. Nice work!!)
