Developing many different skills is better than focusing on one skill in order to succeed.

As our society develops, a wide variety of specialities have has been developed as well. Thus, since one specific skill is easier to master, many people claim that developing only one skill helps you to succeed in the future. However, I do not agree with this idea. I rather think that it is much better to aquire many kinds of skills as possible as one can.
To begin with, investing in one skill only has a great risk. There are many specialists in the world and it means that it is hard to be the best in one certain field. In addition, it is risky to focus on one thing. This is because if one fails fail in the this field, there would be no other way to which one can resort to. In the Finance, there are the word "diversification" in the portfolio theory. It suggests suggest that one should not invest all efforts in one field, instead one should invest in several fields so that he or she can spread diversify the investment risk. Therefore, I think many kinds of skills are more helpful than one skill. For example, a friend of mine who put all his efforts on the CPA, accountants, has tried to achieve it for 10 yearsin 10years does not achieve could not do it his goal yet. Moreover, since he has been failed several time and he does not have more time and money to support himself, he is deperate now.
Secondly, a person who is talented in many parts succeed. Although it is hard to be the best in one field, it is much more possible to be the multiplayer in many fields. Our society needs a person who can do well in several area, not a best in one skill. This can be proved by the fact that many companies prefer prefers one who can do work in many fields such as a performance in his or her department, skills of his or her profession or even human relationships. And this brings more possibility to promote in a company. I have read a economic newspaper which states that most CEOs in Korea, did well in many fields. They did well not only in their department-whether it is their professional fields or not - but also in the relationship with co-workers and bosses.
In conclusion, it is true that a person has more possibility to succeed when he or she is talented in many area. This is because it is less risky than investing all things in one field, which brings more possibility to be ruined. And our society needs need a person who can perform well in many fields. Thus, I agree with the statement that developing many skills is better than developing only one.
