▶ Your Answer :
Many students want to learn from the teacher who is
smart and professional. However, I don’t believe that a professional tutor can be more helpful for students than his or her
friend. That is because it is
easier for students to get assistant from other students and friends know their
friends more than any other. First, it is more convenient for your
friend to get help from you because you may have similar life style with your friend. Both
your friend and you are
attending school and it means that your
schedules are more likely to be similar. Thus, you can have a lot of time to
help your friend and it is easy for you to have an appointment. On the other
hand, a professional tutor might have different schedules and life style from your
friend because he or she is not students. It could be difficult for a
professional tutor to meet and spend enough time to help your friend. For
example, when I was middle school students, I had got help from the tutor
because I was not good at math. However, he was very busy for his other tutees
and the classes which he was going to. Thus, even though he was surely great
tutor, I could get enough help from him. Therefore I strongly believe that it
is good in terms of time for your
friends to get help from you.
Second, you can understand your friend’s problems
better than a professional tutor. What I mean is that your friend and you have similar level of
knowledge and you can remember what problems were bothering you. Thus, you can properly
explain it to your friend about the problems. In contrast, a professional tutor
is less likely to understand exactly your friend’s problems because he or she
knows well too much. There is good
example for this. When I was high school students, I had problems in terms of
math. I could not easily understand the principle of calculus even though I asked
personally my math teacher and listened to his explanation. However, my friend
John explained it on the very next day and it was very clear for me although he
was not good at math. Thenceforth I usually ask my friends firstly whenever I
have a problem about math. Therefore I think that friends can be better instructor
than a professional tutor.
To conclude, I firmly believe that it is better to get the materials from their friend than the professional
tutor when the friends have a matter related to the class. There are two reasons why I think that. It is convenient for
students to get help from their friends and friends can more exactly understand
each other. |
