Writing is classified to two sorts, Literature and illiterature. And the literature is againly distracted of four catergories, that is poetry, fiction, play, and essay. Usaually, illiterature handles real world while literature handles unreal world, except essay. In a publishing industry, the part of literature is growing more and more, because it is important to education and people's lives. So, I think the given statement is wrong and I strongly believe that people should also read books about unreal events. The reasons presented below.
First of all, humans can relive their mind, when they read unreal books. Usually, real books tend to be objective. Hence, they may be stimulate people through direct expression. However, unreal books differ. Lots of great novels impress people as well as me. For example, people are impressed, reading a fiction written by a great writer, Tolstoy. Not only that, the books such as 'Demian' by Hermann Hesse, 'the Old and ocean' by Hemingway make readers to think about themselves deeply. Readers feel sympathy to the plots of unreal stories. Through this process, the readers get comforted and feel peaceful. As a result, it makes readers relieve their mind.
In addition, the books about ideal stuffs are beneficial to children. In Korea, Adults always say, "Children have to read lots of books, more than study." It means reading is important because they can increase their imagination. It brings an enormous effect likes growing as creative and ingenius children. It also important for future, especially aspects of science and advanced technology. For instance, my brother read 'papiyon', one of the science fiction. After he read the book, he decided his dream, a scientist who works in NASA. Like this, novels have large effects on children positively.
Of course, the books about unreal events are important to grasp accurate status of the world. However, if people read only those books, they may become cold-blooded humans or be the negative, pessimistic. So, people have to read the books about unreal story as well as real story. |
