▶ Your Answer :
Some people believe that the Earth is being harmed by human activity. Others feel that human activity makes the Earth a better place to live. I think that human being is making the Earth damaged continuously. To begin with, unlimited usage of natural resources destroy the balance of ecosystem and destroy it eventually. Nature has its own well-balanced ecosystem without interventions from people. However, after humans decide to use a certain type of resources too much, balance of the ecosystem is destructed. After the balance of the ecosystem is destroyed, it cannot function well as usual and many species in the ecosystem become severely damaged. For instance, in the early 19th century, Korea cut off tons of trees to use them in construction sites, however, after cutting off trees, there existed little tree on the mountain. This led to lack of ground water on the mountain which destroyed the balance of the ecosystem in the mountain. In addition, animals and plants lost their habitat in the mountain . Due to the insufficient amount of water and loss of their habitat, ecosystem in the mountain was completely destroyed and this threatened many lives of animals and plants. Secondly, due to the severe pollution from human being, the Earth is damaged. People constantly make pollution or wastes which cannot be accommodated. There exists certain level of pollution that the Earth can purify by itself, however, humans always exceed this level by produce wastes excessively, and this makes the Earth severely damaged. For instance, before the industrial revolution, there was no hole in the Ozone layer. After the installation of a great deal of factories throughout the world, these factories made substantial amount of pollution which make hole in the Ozone layer. At first, the pollution level was trivial, so the Earth can recover the hole in Ozone layer by itself. When level of pollution increased dramatically, the Earth lost its capacity to recover, and hole in the Ozone layer becomes larger and larger in recent days. Due to the excessive pollution, the Ozone layer is being harmed. To conclude, people constantly make the Earth harmed since they use the natural resources too much that natural ecosystem collapses. Furthermore, since people produce wastes above the limit that the Earth can purify, it is severely damaged. It is required for us to handle the Earth in a more protective point of view. |
