Some people think that advantages of playing sports in competitions or contest far outweigh than those of playing sports for fun. This is because, most of people believe that competition helps students to achieve a higher grade. However, in my opinion, enjoying sports is more important for students than playing sports in competitions or contest for two reasons : to keep healthy and to enhance a sense of responsibility.
To begin with, enjoying sports for fun allows students to stay healthy, which is contributes to advance students’ positive mentalism. Healthy think is very important worth because it makes students good child. Frankly speaking, students tend to reduce their stress level by forgetting their stressful matters such as playing sports with their intimate friends. In this sense, if students play sports for competitions, they will be lethargic about school life. Consequently, stress stems from competitions is so harmful for students. According to a study conducted by Seoul National University of Korea in 2012, a test on mice show that life span was shorten when they regularly underwent series of electric shocks. Interestingly, the researchers found a link between this and human beings who suffered from periodic stress. These implies that high stress level coming from competition especially children’s sports can negatively affect students, resulting in a shorter life span.
On top of that, playing sports for fun plays a significant role in improving teenagers’ a sense of responsibility. This is due to the fact that sports is a team sports, so sports for fun require better responsibilities such as arriving on time, manage this schedules wisely, meeting deadlines, observing regulations, and thoroughly completing assignments. However, competitions for sports generally break teamwork, with respect to, it is not good action. According to a study conducted by Seoul National University of Korea in 2012, students who sports for fun do better academically than their peers who do not for fun because they know how to handle multiple task, and responsibilities and consequently manage their time well. On the whole, students who get together with others when they sports for fun are more mature and better equipped to succeed than their non-enjoying peers. These benefits extend far outside the classroom.
To sum up, students benefits more from playing sports for fun than playing game for competitions in order to succeed in students’ life over the long run. This is attributed to the fact that it is capable of developing a sense of responsibilities as well as improving students’ health. In this regard, I strongly agree with the statement that children should play sports for fun; they should not play sports in competitions or contest for the reasons I mentioned above. |
