▶ Your Answer :
It is debatable whether students should live in university dormitories or apartments which are located in off-campus. This is an intriguing question because opinions concerning this can be different relying on individual perspectives. In my opinion, however, I believe that living in dormitories is better for students for the following subsequent two reasons. To begin with, living in dormitories is more convenient for students in terms of time and money. They do not have to waste time for commuting. They can reach the class from their home within a short time because most dormitories are located near the school buildings. Not only that, they can save their money since the housing fee is lower than off-campus and the food offered by the cafeteria in the dormitories is relatively cheap. Therefore, students who are short of their spending money can attend school without stress. For example, last semester, I lived in a university dormitory for the first time. I originally lived in a room out of the campus, but I decided to get into the dormitory because I had a hard time for long commuting time and financial problem. After I moved to the dormitory, the problem was solved. so I could focus on studying hard for my major and I got high marks. On top of that, students can have more interaction with other students at the dormitories. There are a lot of students in the dormitories. In addition, there are many programs hosted by the residential assistants who help students to adapt well to the dormitories. so it would be a good chance for them to make friends easily. However, if they live in apartments, they would not be able to get to know many people except for the people who live next door. For instance, last semester again, I met a lot of people at the discussion program for socializing between students when I lived in the dormitory. They mostly had different major from mine (전공=나 인것이 아니라 나의 전공이기 때문에 소유격을 씁니다). So (대소문자 구분) I could learn about knowledge of other fields of study and form a deeper relationship with them. If I had lived in off-campus, I would not have achieved the improvement I mentioned earlier. In a nutshell, dormitories allow students to save time and money. Moreover, students can make many friends and have a chance to develop themselves in dormitories. In this regard, I firmly believe that it is desirable for students to live in dormitories rather than apartments. | |
