Having suffered from the financial crisis, individuals are increasingly
emphasizing the significance of the money. Is wealth so important that
only the rich are successful? As far as I am concerned, to say that only
those who earn much money are successful is completely unacceptable. In fact, there exist many criterion of success other than money, therefore whether a person is rich should not be the only criteria of his success. One may be dedicated to his career, or one may has studied a complicated and difficult a research, or one is exceedingly skilled at his own field. All of those factors make one a successful person, but a multitude of individuals consider one's ability to accumulate wealth just as the extent of his success. Furthermore, the real success of the life lies in the happiness from my perspective. Even if one has achieved success, which may refer to the wealth or the reputation he gathered, it is meaningless unless he feel happy with his contemporary life. For an instance, we will hear from time to time that some celebrities committed suicide owing to too much pressure given to them. Are they successful? There also exists a survey that the Malaysians are the most happy people in the world even though their GDP is ranked only to th 60th in the world. These indisputable evidence indicates that a lot of money does not equal a lot of success. From the statement given above, it is natural and even mandatory to draw out a conclusion that we must differentiate the success from wealth. Individuals are never successful only with abilities to create economic value. |
